 Is it normal scab or crusts shed along with transplanted hair as its 12th post op day?

It is perfectly alright if transplanted hair is shed along with crusts or scabs on the 12th day. We usually recommend to put some oil and touch gently at night on the 10th day night and next morning when you take a shower , most of the crust or scabs will soften and dislodge easily. So if you remove gently and softly it would be perfect. No need to worry as these transplanted follicles are supposed to fall in 2 to 4 weeks. Their stem cells remain in the scalp and these will start growth 3 months later. Sometimes we usually ask our patients to visit us on the 11th day and our staff perform washing and softly removal of the scabs.Â
