FUE Cost in Pakistan
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method of hair transplant surgery which involves extracting hair follicles individually from an area of good hair growth. Since separate hair follicles are removed, there is no permanent scar seen at the donor area, or the area from where hair follicles have been taken. These hair follicles are then planted on the bald patch, also called the recipient site. The hair transplant surgery is observed to be a simple surgery since it is done under local anesthesia and is not necessarily done in an operation theatre and can be performed in a clinic. However, there is skill and experience needed to carry out such a surgery since it can change the whole outlook of a person. Due to this factor, the cost of this kind of procedure is also more than any ordinary one. Not all surgeons can conduct hair transplant surgeries, using the FUE method. Since separate hair follicles are planted on the recipient site, the surgeon has to make sure they are laid out in the same pattern as that of the existing hair on the scalp. Each person’s FUE treatment is different than the other’s and it is purely the surgeon’s expertise to give a natural look since every person’s hair pattern and nature of hair follicles and the acceptance of these hair follicles is a distinct feature. Usually, surgeons charge according to the number of grafts being planted. In case there are only 1000 grafts being planted, the cost will definitely be lesser than a surgery that involves plantation of 3000 grafts. There are some countries where a candidate can get cheaper hair transplants as compared to the procedure carried out in developed western countries. Places such as the United Kingdom and the United States have expensive health care and hence the surgeons there charge more, but in countries like Malaysia, Thailand and Pakistan the cost of FUE hair transplant is much lesser. The surgeons here do not charge as much as those in Europe and the United States but the services they provide are of the same quality while using the latest technologies. The latest technology in FUE transplantation is neograft. This is a mechanical device that extracts hair follicles using a vacuum and then plants these follicles. This technology has made it possible to plant a large number of grafts in a single session. However, the manual FUE procedure costs more than neograft transplant since the surgeon’s skill and expertise are worth more than the judgment of a mechanical device. Generally, in Pakistan FUE hair transplants costs between Rs70,000 to Rs 140,000. On the other hand, the same FUE costs abroad somewhere between 7,000 Euros to 10,000 Euros. This wide difference in process is due to the medical facilities, clinical charges and the technician fee. Although the same factors are valid in all countries, but in some cases the medical personnel charge more. Anybody interested in a hair restoration procedure must find out the costs of FUE procedure in different places and from different surgeons.
